Work Required:
- Remaking the ring using the existing gold, and supplying more where needed
- Replacing 2 x diamonds and 9 x sapphires
- Lead time of approximately 8 to 10 weeks
- TOTAL - £5,750 (including VAT)
The goldsmiths have advised that unsetting the diamonds carries a risk of further damaging them. If this occurs, they may need to quote for replacing any affected stones. You will of course be notified of this in the first instance, before they proceed with any replacements.
It is also important to state that this quote does not include the cost of polishing the diamonds, which is an option we discussed last year. The goldsmiths do not at this stage feel it is necessary for the repair and suggested it only for aesthetic reasons.
